The Diamond Blog
New Website Design
by Matt Di Pasquale on Monday, May 25th, 2009 at 10:00pmWe just rolled out a new website design. Feel free to comment on it below. It should look nice on Firefox but hasn’t been tested on every browser yet, so if you notice anything that looks broken, or something we should change, please let us know. Thanks!
The old website was powered by Drupal. It even had the default Drupal look because we didn’t get to change it.
For simplicity, malleability, and performance, this website was coded from scratch with html, css, php, and mysql. It doesn’t use much javascript yet.
Our blog is powered by WordPress because we liked it better than the Drupal blog and it was easy to install and theme to match our new design.
We hope you like it!
Matt
It’s Here… Finally
by Matt Di Pasquale on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 at 12:45pmIt’s finally here. Our Pilot Issue.
You must be 18 years old or older to view this issue. Before opening, keep in mind that I am naked on pages 33 and 37. Feel free to skip those pages if you’d like, or not.
It’s attached as a 7MB .pdf file. It’s best viewed by right-clicking this link: http://www.diamond-mag.com/issues/diamond-pilot-issue.pdf and selecting “Save Link As…” This saves the .pdf file to your computer. Then, you can open the file with Adobe Reader and click the icon at the top to view one page at a time.
Since it took me so long to put everything together, a couple of the articles are from June. I wanted to include them though because they’re great.
For up to date content, writers from established websites have requested to post writings to our blog.
Enjoy!
Matt
Current Status and Future Direction
by Matt Di Pasquale on Sunday, August 31st, 2008 at 5:11pmSo, the Diamond Pilot Issue is basically done. I just want to look it over and make the finishing touches. I’m shooting to have it posted on the site as a .pdf file by next Monday.
I also want to improve the website, make it look better, and add more content and photos. And I want to make a page that allows students to easily submit writings, images, and other digital content to be published.
I want to start a vlog (video blog) where we’ll post relevant videos, and I want to start interviewing attractive students mainly on sex, dating. and relationships, and I’ll post the videos of the interviews to the vlog.
We’re going to have some shirts made as well.
As much as we enjoyed making our pilot issue as a .pdf document that we were intending to print, we’re thinking that in the future, most of our content will be published online because it’s easier, faster, and more accessible.
New Blog and Logo
by Matt Di Pasquale on Thursday, February 14th, 2008 at 3:48pmWe have posted our blog where we will be keeping our readers up to date with our progress. We have designed our logo DiAMOND (as shown at the top of the page) and our slogan: It’s your time to shine. (Internet Explorer cuts off the bottom of the logo.) We are working to redesign the layout of our website and will be holding open auditions for models soon.
Diamond Mag is EXPLODING!!!
by Matt Di Pasquale on Thursday, February 7th, 2008 at 11:20amIt’s blowin’ up… here’s the crimson article published in the school paper: http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=521710. They also included a pic of me with a sexy girl on THE FRONT PAGE! This venture has become famous overnight… people have been approaching me left and right. I can’t even count the number of news blogs that have linked to the crimson article already… even to my Facebook page! Fox 25, The Boston Herald, and The Campus Word all contacted me for an interview! I will be posting the links on the Press page when the stories get published.
You can stay posted by checking the website.
Sincerely,
Matt Di Pasquale
